It seems as though it tracks your patch more this time around and i assume that you score more points for hitting closer to the middle of the note (size based on easy) so I think that maybe if you are closer to perfect in terms of pitch you will be scoring more points. I 'think' the lack of difficulty is actually built in to the scoring system.
